Graham Mushnik started producing his own music in 2005 as he discovered the joys of sampling, cutting and pasting sounds taken from old recordings and films from the 60’s and 70’s. He soon began to combine samples and actual recordings of his organ and other instruments.

His first single, “La Première Cavalcade”, came out the following year – low-fi drum loops and frenetic organs. Soon after, Graham completed an 8-track LP, “A Distant Wildlife”. The album was a success in the DJ world and the title “The Cat – The Beast” became the opening theme to German radio show Hello Mellow Fellow (Byte FM). Graham Mushnik performed live as a solo act in Hamburg and London, and his 2nd LP “On The Phone with …” was completed after 3 years of work - it came out in 2013 on his Catapulte label.

Following the release of the album, the Graham Mushnik Orchestra was formed, later renamed Group Martini, with a bunch of skillful musicians (from bands Guess What, Orchestre du Montplaisant, Imperial Tiger Orchestra, Mazalda…) – a groovy and explosive electric line-up that brought to life Graham’s compositions. The band has been performing around Europe, notably at Hamburg’s legendary Golden Pudel (2013), Folkwelt and Catapulte festivals (2014), Michto festival (2015), Lugano Buskers festival (2016).

Graham Mushnik débute son projet solo en 2005, lorsqu’il découvre les joies du sampling et du couper-coller à partir de vieux vinyls et de films des années 60/70. Il élabore des morceaux en combinant ces samples à ses propres parties d’orgue, de guitare et d’autres instruments.

Son premier single, “La Première Cavalcade”, sort l’année suivante – des boucles de batteries low-fi et un orgue jazzy frénétique. Peu de temps après, Graham achève son LP “A Distant Wildlife”. L’album, sorti sur Catapulte, est bien reçu dans le circuit des DJ’s et son premier titre, “The Cat – The Beast”,  devient le générique de l’émission allemande Hello Mellow Fellow (Byte FM). Graham Mushnik se produit en solo à Hambourg et à Londres, à chaque fois avec une formule différente.

Le second LP, “On the Phone with…”, voit le jour en 2013 après 3 ans de préparation. Peu après, il monte le Graham Mushnik Orchestra, rebaptisé Group Martini, avec une poignée de musiciens hors-pair (membres de Guess What, l’Orchestre du Montplaisant, Imperial Tiger Orchestra, Mazalda…); une formation électrique, groovy et explosive qui donne vie aux morceaux jadis prisonniers des sillons. Le groupe s’est depuis produit sur scène, notamment au mythique Golden Pudel de Hambourg (2013), aux festivals Folkwelt et Catapulte (2014), au festival Michtô (2015), et au Lugano Buskers festival (2016).

Des concerts, ainsi que le premier enregistrement du groupe Martini, sont en préparation...
